Woodend Lions Club is a group of community minded individuals who seek to make our township and world a better place to live, to look after those in need and to lend a hand to any worthy project that is bought to us. We raise money to help support these aims from donations, Lions Art Show and the Community Market

We are a welcoming Neighbourhood House that works alongside our community to support one another through both the good times and the challenging ones. We love hearing from our community and getting involved wherever we can. Our programs support connection, wellbeing and practical needs. These include our Community Foodbank, Community Lunch, social connection activities, Community Garden, Woodend Repair Café and Woodend Community Bike Shed. Each of these initiatives helps reduce isolation, provides hands-on support, and strengthens local relationships. We also offer children’s activities, adult learning opportunities, and support local groups and businesses by providing affordable meeting spaces and printing services.

Woodend Primary School is a dual campus school with an annexe at Carlsruhe, 7 kilometres north of Woodend. Year 4 students spend four days per week at the annexe, engaging in a curriculum focusing on sustainability, environmental awareness and animal care. With a 2026 enrolment of over 380 students, Woodend Primary School is well-resourced and provides a broad and comprehensive curriculum, delivered by dedicated and experienced staff. Student achievement outcomes are generally at or above expectation in most areas of the curriculum and the school continually aims for the highest quality of teaching and learning.
